Juraj Dobrila University of Pula was founded on the 11th of October, 2006, and it was registered with the Commercial Court Registry in Pazin on the 21st of December 2006, as a legal successor of the "Dr. Mijo Mirković" Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Faculty of Philosophy in Pula and Higer Teacher Education and Training School in Pula. The University is organized on the basis of an integrated structure principle, using the department-based structure with common administrative and technical services, which allows an efficient and high-quality way of accomplishing the mission, objectives and development strategy. The constituents of the University are the Departments/Faculty which are structured according to the classification of science into areas (social, humanistic, artistic and bio-technical) and fields (economics, education sciences, linguistics, history, music, biology), thus allowing the teaching and scientific research component to be integrated into a whole. Implementing the Bologna process, adjusting our teaching and non-teaching methods to the European standards and bringing study programmes into a line with the economic needs are the basic foundations of strengthening the quality at the Juraj Dobrila University. Juraj Dobrila University of Pula is organized towards project creation and implementation (office for international cooperation and EU projects, a relevant number of young scientists from different fields of research). As a public body which operates in the field of science and high education it has strong capacities for the development of educational and training programs which can be created for various target groups including SMEs.
