Juraj Dobrila University of Pula and Istrian Development Agency announced regional conference: "EU Future Perspectives, Innovation, Entrereneurship and Economic Policy“

Danijela Križman Pavlović, as a representor of University presented SMART INNO project and the partnership. 

Boris Sabatti, director of Istrian Development Agency, WP4 Leader, presented recent activities and announced the opening of “Center for science popularization and innovation of Istrian Region” within SMART INNO project .

The Center will be founded and equiped in collaboration with Association of Technical Culture of Istrian Region. Center will enable learning the basic laws of nature in a simple and interesting way through interactive experiments. The main goal is to, finally, raise the development potentialof the county, strenghten the infrastructure for research and development in order to encourage technological development in the region.

The main purpose of founding such Center is to promote the interes in science among children and young people, early orientation of talented children in science in collaboration with expert mentors, team work aspiration developing, new technologies early adoption, R&D, innovation and creativity abilities development among children and young people.

IDA will enable the equipment purchase in amount of 33.500,00 EUR.  Among 35 equipment pieces will be there, the most important are:

  • units for static mechanics
  • unit for harmonic oscillations
  • unit for the Study of pressure
  • unit of Thermodynamics
  • unit for powertrain
  • Van Der Graafof generator
  • mentally friendly units for the study of electricity
  • unit for acoustics
  • unit of magnetism

Alek Dragojević, associate in IDA announced the international scientific conference “EU Future Perspectives: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Economic Policy” that will be organized in Pula from 21-23 May 2015. in Hotel Park Plaza Histria.

University and IDA d.o.o. will host the Smart Inno Steering Committee and all the project partners from Adriatic Ionian Macroregion. Workshops will be organized for SMEs, innovators, intermediary organizations, policy makers, business angels and crowdfunding representors. Croatian Business Angles and Crowdfunding organizations have already confirmed their arrivals!

The worskhop aim is to gather all the relevant stakeholders in order to jointly discuss on the themes of innovation in the new EUSAIR context (EU Strategy for Adriatic Ionian Region).

Kristina Hlavati, project assistent on Smart Inno announced the scientific part of the conference, which starts on 22nd of May. The Keynote Speakers will be:

  • Prof. Steve Keen (University of Western Sydney, Australia)
  • Prof. dr. Peter Mihalyi (Department of Finance, University of Pannonia, Mađarska)
  • Prof.dr. Guglielmo Maria Caporale (Centre for Empirical Finance, Brunel University, Velika Britanija)
  • Prof. Dr. Michael Dowling (Faculty of Business, Economics and Management Information Systems, University of Regensburg, Njemačka)
  • Prof.Dr. Zenonas Turskis (Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Litva)

There are no fees for the conference, but it is neccessary to fill in the registration form available at the official conference website: www.eufutureperspectives.unipu.hr .

Extended Abstract Submission deadline is April 1st and the registration deadline is May 4th.
