Juraj Dobrila University of Pula on recent and future activities within SMART INNO PROJECT


Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, FB13 partner on Smart Inno project, has organized a Press Conference.

Ph.D Associate Professor Robert Zenzerović, Vice Dean at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković and Project Manager at Smart Inno project (Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, FB 13), presented the recent activities regarding the Smart Inno project : regional conference "European Union Future Perspectives: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Economic Policy" which was held in Pula from 21.-23rd of May 2015. More than 100 papers were presented in 15 sessions, with two workshops on the theme of financing innovative entrepreneurial ventures and intermediary organization activities. Juraj Dobrila University of Pula and the Istrian Development Agency (IDA) hosted 16 project partners from eight countries of the Adriatic Ionian region on a two-day international project meeting.

The future planned activities are to organize workshops during the European SMEs Week in November 2015, and to continue with educational program "Catalog of entrepreneurial ideas" in February 2016.

David Demanuele, Communication Manager on Smart Inno project said that the main goal of the SMART INNO project is to develop a smart networking system for monitoring and fostering research & innovation capacity in SMEs across Adriatic Region. Therefore, most of the activities in the previous period were focused on the construction of the "Adriatic Ionian Business Innovation Network". The network will enable networking activities of all stakeholders, will facilitate communication and access to alternative sources of financing, creating and sharing innovation and technology transfer between Universities, Intermediary Organizations and SMEs. So far, the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, has concluded over 50 agreements of cooperation and the selected ones are the cooperation with  CRANE (Croatian business angels network), Ethical bank, Union of Associations of Inventors of Istria County, the Community of Technical Culture of Pula, Center for Social Innovation and Sustainable Development (CEDIOR) and even better cooperation has been achieved between scientific research institutions such as the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Rijeka, University of Split  and the Technology Transfer Offices.
